we are an associate of Turning Point Academy

Turning Point Academy Association brings like-minded education advocates together to equip, encourage, and strengthen one another in order to provide transformational education to the next generation rooted in God’s truth and virtue.

Freedom Generation, partners with parents to train up a generation of culture-shapers through educational discipleship, forming Biblical foundations, marketable skill sets, and healthy, wholesome relationships.

As a Christian educational center, Freedom Generation offers dynamic and engaging classes for K-6th students, in North County San Diego County. Each year we will be adding additional grade level up to 12th Grade. Our little missionary program equips parents with children ages 3-5 years, in learning arts, music, math, science, and language acquisition.

Upon graduation, Freedom Generation students will demonstrate a Biblical worldview, a lifelong love of learning, an appreciation for the arts, critical reasoning skills, and a well-formed conscience, equipping them to excel in their home, church, and the marketplace.

Portrait of a Graduate

FGHE strives to partner with parents to raise young men and young women who…

Love God – You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. – Matthew 22:37

Love Others – FGHE students love others by treating them as they would like to be treated, by showing others respect, by caring for our educational center and church home, and by serving our community.

Reason Well – “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it” – Aristotle

Learn Independently – A classical education taught in a hybrid model captures the attention and imagination of students in developmentally appropriate ways. It promotes independent scholarship, inspiring them and equipping them for a lifetime of learning.

Engage Society – FGHE students learn to understand and critique culture against a Biblical worldview to represent Christ well, communicate truth winsomely, and argue persuasively.

Embody Virtue – Inside and outside the classroom:  In all things Christ preeminent.

Delight in Beauty –FGHE. students learn to discern and love beauty as manifested in art and all of creation.

Mission

Our mission is to provide an educational center where parents and their children can exercise their Constitutional rights. Our curriculum is chosen to enrich the students biblical worldview with a solid scholastic emphasis that equips students with academic and critical thinking skills. Our ministry empowers students to develop leadership skills to lead the next generation with excellence, faith, and wisdom. We inspire students to become godly leaders in their family, community, church and workplace.

Vision

In partnership with parents and At The Cross Church, Freedom Generation endeavors to train up a generation of culture-shapers by creating community, enhancing skills, and nurturing kingdom-mindedness. Our ministry fosters both spiritual growth and academic excellence, creating parent-church partnerships that nurture a lifelong love of learning and an appreciation for the arts within the context of a strong biblical worldview. We want to equip the next generation of leaders to excel in the home, the church, and the marketplace.

Purpose

Freedom Generation connects parents, teachers, and students around the central hub of At The Cross Church, providing collective oversight and connective opportunities. Freedom Generation fosters connective threads between the local church and Christian institutions of higher education, strengthening the bonds of unity, creating a rich culture of educational and workplace influence, and preparing students for college, career, and family life.

Why Homeschool?

Across America, today, 56 million students attend schools where God has been purposefully dissected from the foundations of learning. The youngest generations have been indoctrinated in an academic system that has produced the fruit of anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, drug abuse, youth homicide, STDs, and atheism.

Homeschooling is a system of family discipleship where parents take on the responsibility of educating their children at home through a variety of methods and systems. For most Christian families, this means providing a Bible-based education centered on both spiritual and academic formation.

Freedom Generation is built on a foundation that restores Christianity, the church, and the family to the center point of academia, reversing the trend of negative fruit in the youngest generations.

How Does Freedom generation Work?

Students can study at home for their entire K-12 career. However, we’ve found the support of the classroom can provide students with a valuable community experience that fosters growth and maturity.

Freedom Generation ministry gives parents the confidence of knowing who is ministering to their children and what ideologies they are being trained up in. Our model encourages the development of competencies that educate students in the truth of God’s word, partnering with parents in raising up a generation of world changers.

Flexible Class Schedules

Parents can customize student schedules, providing the necessary balance of reflection and connection designed to stir up an academic curiosity and fuel life-long learning.

Core & Elective Courses

Core courses include math, science, English, and history. Elective courses include various art courses including theater and worship band, marketplace courses including entrepreneurship and speech and debate, and many more.

Four Hour Days

We trade the traditional eight-hour school day for a shorter day, allowing students to build deeper relationships and pursue other goals outside the classroom.

Designed for Engagement

Our Socratic-style classroom models cater to a variety of learning styles through lecture, interaction, and collaborative conversation

Mentorship

Our active involvement from families creates students who are more likely to remain in the Christian faith, be more civically engaged, and more secure in their identities than those educated in the traditional system

Church Partnership

Our parents are joined by At The Cross Church and our Christian faculty to share and encourage Biblical core values, contributing greatly to student success.

Academics with purpose

Freedom Generation provides lesson planning and instructional support in four core subject areas: Math, Science, History, and Language Arts. Additionally, we offer daily Bible lessons in our chapel program.

The lesson plans will provide direction for parents for their home days, and allow them to see and follow along with what is being taught during on-campus days. This allows families flexibility within the structure of our programs.

Our Education Board curates annual curriculum lists for each grade level and accompanying lesson plans for use on-campus and at home.  Each piece of the curriculum is considered for its ability to transition from “classroom to living room” as we realize it is used in both learning environments.

bible | MATHEMATICS | science | History | Language Arts

Our specialized combination of classroom and home-based instruction optimizes academic success for each of our students!

Bible

Our daily chapel-style Bible lessons reflect on Christ, highlight His word, and help strengthen students’ Biblical worldview. In Chapel, the opportunities to discover new truths about our Savior are rich and plentiful!

Mathematics

Many parents’ fears about schooling stem directly from their insecurities about Math.  Our Math curriculum is very carefully selected and is designed to provide the parent an easy road map to follow.  Additionally, our teachers understand parents’ concerns in this area and are always available to help navigate any topics that may be presenting a challenge at home.

Science

At Freedom Generation, we believe that Science and the Bible go hand-in-hand and are absolutely not mutually exclusive to one another.  Experiments, dissections, and multi-step projects breathe life into science facts.  Our creation-based curriculum challenges students to go beyond memorization to the application of scientific approaches in the study of biology, chemistry, earth, and physical sciences.

History

We approach History from a decidedly Christian perspective, incorporating the Bible’s influence on historical events wherever and whenever possible. Students are encouraged to go beyond boring memorization of historical facts so that they can fully understand the real consequences of our past and the lessons that can be learned from them.

Language Arts

Covering all areas of Writing, Literature, Grammar/Vocabulary, and in the younger grades Reading and Handwriting Skills, the broad area of Language Arts is well covered at Freedom Generation.
